Provides assistance to the bus driver by monitoring and aiding students on the bus.

Purpose: Provide safe and reliable assistance for special needs students while traveling to and from school.
Reports to: Transportation Director

Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Supervising and working with children.

Specific Functions and Responsibilities:
- Abide by all Kansas school transportation regulations and guidelines.
- Assist bus driver in maintaining student discipline on the bus.
- Report student behavior problems to the building principal and Transportation Director.
- Adhere to district policies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Transportation Director.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching.
- Requires climbing and balancing.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must work in noisy, crowded, stressful environments.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
